Maj-Lis Ris, "MLR", was born in 1953 on the island of Orust in Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast.
She has always lived there, and during recent years has also had a second home in Santiago de la Ribera (Murcia), Spain. Her art is inspired by Bohuslän. She started drawing and painting in early childhood. After a painting class at the art school Gerlesborg, Sweden, she has chosen aquarelle as her form of expression.
